A tragic morning at South Korea‘s Muan International Airport saw a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok crash during landing, claiming 177 lives.
The Boeing 737-800, carrying 181 people, struck a barrier and burst into flames around 9:03 am local time.
Only two survivors, both flight attendants, were pulled from the wreckage.
What Happened?
The plane reportedly suffered a landing gear malfunction, worsened by poor weather and a suspected bird strike.
Just minutes before the landing attempt, authorities issued a bird strike warning.
Shocking footage shows the jet skidding along the runway on its belly, trailing smoke before colliding with a wall and erupting into a deadly blaze.
A fire official told the local media that the passengers had little chance of survival as it collided with a wall.
The incident comes two days after an Azerbaijani Airplane crashed in Kazakhstan after a Russian air defense missile shot it down.
