Ukraine Assassinates Top-Most Russian General in Moscow

In a dramatic escalation, Ukraine’s intelligence agency has taken credit for assassinating a top Russian general accused of overseeing chemical attacks.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, Russia’s chief of Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Protection Troops, was killed alongside his aide.

According to Russian news outlets, a bomb hidden in an electric scooter exploded outside Kirillov’s Moscow apartment building.

Ukraine Takes Credit

An SBU source confirmed to Reuters: “The liquidation… is the work of the SBU.”

Surveillance footage, though unverified, shows two men stepping out of the building moments before a fiery blast erupts.

The targeted strike is the most high-profile killing of a Russian military figure inside Russia since the war began.

Bumpy Road Ahead

Kirillov’s death is set to rattle Moscow’s military leadership and may trigger calls for heightened security measures.

The high-profile attack comes as US President-elect Donald Trump is expected to take office and end this war but things have gotten complicated.
