In an intensely globalized world where smartphones and social media dominate daily life, it’s almost impossible that there are people untouched by modern civilization.
But rare drone footage has captured just that, tribes living entirely off the grid, to prove their existence.
Where is the Video Footage Taken?
The videos, taken by uncontacted tribes expert G. Miranda and released by Survival International, highlight tribes in Brazil’s Amazon and North Sentinel Island of India.
These images offer a glimpse of a drastically different way of life: small settlements, and thatched homes.
The rare video footage shows tribespeople staring curiously at the drone, bows, and arrows in hand.
Purpose of Footage
The purpose of Miranda’s footage was to raise awareness about the importance of the well-being of indigenous communities.
“We did the overflight to show their houses, to show they are there, to show they exist,” said another expert on isolated tribes, José Carlos dos Reis Meirelles Júnior.
