United HealthCare CEO Suspect Arrested At McDonald’s & Charged

The killer of United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson was apprehended and charged with murder after days of manhunt.

The suspect is 26-year-old Luigi Mangione who fatally shot Thompson last week outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel.

Mangione Was Arrested in McDonald’s

Mangione was nabbed at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, thanks to a sharp-eyed customer who recognized him from the news.

Police say Mangione was caught with a gun, $10,000 in cash, and a handwritten note hinting at anger toward corporate America.

Why Mangione Killed Thompson?

The police believe that the suspect had a clear grudge against how the health industry treated American citizens.

The shell casings police recovered from the crime scene last had three words written on them, “deny,” “defend,” and “depose”.

This suggested a grudge against the insurance industry’s so-called “three Ds” strategy of rejecting claims.

Mr Mangione’s family said they were devastated to hear the news and were sorry to Thompson’s family for what their son had done.
