A sprawling beachfront mansion in Naples, Florida, priced at a jaw-dropping $295 million, now holds the title of America’s most expensive property.
Nestled on nine acres with two guesthouses and a yacht berth, the mansion is a prime example of how climate change threatens humanity’s coastal areas.

Mansion Has 68% Chance of Flooding
According to Jeremy Porter, a climate risk expert, the estate faces a 68% chance of flooding within 15 years.
Mr. Jeremy estimated that the property has a nearly certain 95% risk over the next 30 years.
Its low-lying location in the exclusive Port Royal neighborhood leaves it exposed to rising seas and intensifying storms, caused by climate change.

“This area was built with little thought for storm surges until Ian hit,” said Michael Savarese, a geology expert.
Other experts believe that if the place is hit with yet another wave of destructive hurricanes, the chances of its survival drop to merely one year.
