President Joe Biden has shocked everybody after he issued a full pardon for his son Hunter Biden.
The pardon now officially overturns Biden’s earlier stance against granting clemency, a decision the president-elect Donald Trump called “an abuse of justice”.
The move follows Hunter’s convictions earlier this year—one for tax charges and another for illegal possession of a firearm while using drugs.
How Biden Justified It?
Calling the cases a “miscarriage of justice,” Biden accused political forces of targeting his son unfairly.
“I’ve watched my son be selectively prosecuted,” he said, adding that the decision wasn’t easy but was ultimately about both justice and fatherhood.
Republicans Outraged
The pardon has sparked outrage, particularly from Republicans.
Former President Donald Trump slammed the move as a “miscarriage of justice” and linked it to his supporters jailed for the January 6 Capitol attack.
“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the [6 January] Hostages,” Trump said on the Truth Social platform.
