Priest Replaced After Carpenter Shoots Music Video in His Church

A New York priest is facing backlash after allowing popstar Sabrina Carpenter to film risqué scenes for her Feather music video inside his church.

Monsignor Jamie Gigantiello has been stripped of his duties at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church over “serious violations” beyond the controversial shoot.

What Did Carpenter Do?

Released in October 2023, the video features Carpenter dancing on the altar in a short black dress and a crucifix adorned with sensitive remarks.

The church officials said they were “appalled” by what they described as “mismanagement” in the church.

After further investigation, Gigantiello was found to have transferred nearly $2 million in church funds to bank accounts associated with New York Mayor Eric Adams.

Gigantiello Didn’t Respond To Allegations

Although Gigantiello did respond to the video and called it a “lapse in judgment” but he is yet to answer questions related to financial transactions.

Bishop Robert Brennan told CBS News that Gigantiello was using the credit card for his expenses.
