The New York Times was told by two anonymous Iranian sources that Elon Musk has reportedly met the Iranian ambassador to the United Nations.
Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and a key ally of President-elect Donald Trump, reportedly met Amir Saeid Iravani, in a secret New York location on Monday.
The meeting lasted over an hour and focused on a range of issues including the de-escalation of tensions between Iran and the US under the Trump administration.
Meeting Has Not Been Confirmed
Neither Musk nor Trump’s transition team have commented on the report.
Iran’s UN mission has also declined to address the claims made by the New York Times.
The meeting comes after Donald Trump met with Joe Biden and talked in detail about the situation in the Middle East.
The meeting could also be a hint from Iran to soften Trump’s stance under his second administration.
