US President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump finally met in the White House after years of talking ill about each other.
The meeting aims to talk about critical issues the next President is going to face on multiple fronts.
Despite a tough political campaign that saw both men hurling rough language about each other, the meeting went smoothly, and smiled almost all the way to the end.
Handshake Afte Years
The two presidents shook hands after years of bitter relationship. When the President-elect lost to Joe Biden in 2020, he didn’t invite Biden to the White House.
“They discussed important national security and domestic policy issues facing the nation and the world,” White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
The meeting lasted two hours and the two leaders exchanged views on some of the pressing issues the next administration is going to face.
Experts are skeptical if the meeting will have any impact on Trump’s views on Ukraine and the Middle East.
