Saudi Arabia Desert Sees Rare Snowfall For First Time in History

When a deserted place like Saudi Arabia sees its first-ever snow, you can’t keep questioning if the climate is really changing.

That is how social media users reacted to a ‘first time in history’ snow in the Saudi desert of Al-Jawf.

Starting last Wednesday, heavy rain transitioned into hailstorms that brought an unexpected layer of ice and snow to the parched mountains, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Citizens Worried

The Saudi weather agency was not wrong when it advised its citizens to take care of themselves as the situation didn’t look at all.

This rare weather pattern revived rivers, filled valleys, and caused streams to flow in a place where such things are not nonexistent.

Social Media Users Shocked

The country’s strictly regulated social media expressed shock at what they saw as the signs of the day of judgment.

While some called it a shift in “mother nature’s colors,” others pointed out that it’s technically hail, not snow.
