CNN Bans Conservative Commentator For Threatening Mehdi Hassan
CNN banned a conservative commentator after he allegedly threatened progressive commentator Mehdi Hassan in a live TV show.
CNN’s NewsNight with Abby Phillip saw a dramatic moment on Wednesday when Ryan Girdusky was asked to leave the panel after a heated confrontation with Mehdi Hasan.
Girdusky tried to defend remarks made at Trump’s rally recently that included Hinchcliffe’s comments calling Puerto Rico “an island of garbage”.
What Happened Between The Two Commentators?
During the TV program, Hassan was seen criticizing dangerous language used at Trump’s rally calling it “the language of the far right.”
Girdusky retorted by bringing up past accusations of antisemitism faced by Hasan, who responded, “I’m in support of the Palestinians, I’m used to it.”
The exchange went down the hill when Girdusky said, “Yeah, well, I hope your beeper doesn’t go off.”
The remarks referred to Israe l’s controversial military operation that killed dozens in Lebanon when pagers blew off.
CNN’s Host Abby Phillip apologized to Hasan after the program and said Girdusky wouldn;t be allowed again.
