4 Astronauts Hospitalized on Return From Space After Eight Months

Three NASA astronauts and one Russian cosmonaut were rushed to a hospital shortly after returning to Earth from an extended mission on the International Space Station (ISS).

The space agency has yet to specify the medical condition which they said wasn’t serious. NASA withheld the astronaut’s name and details of the issue, citing privacy.

Three Astronauts Cleared

The entire crew initially underwent routine evaluations after their return but was flown together to Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola hospital in Florida “out of an abundance of caution.”

While the other three crew members, including a Russian cosmonaut, have since been cleared and returned to Houston, the affected astronaut remains in the health facility in stable condition.

NASA Didn’t Release Name

The agency declined to name the astronaut after mentioning the three other astronauts.

NASA said it would not disclose specific medical information to protect the crew member’s privacy but would provide updates as available.
