Campaigners in the Czech Republic have sent a letter to the European Commission to decide if Tesla’s Cybertrucks are suitable for European roads.
The letter signed by public safety campaign groups mentioned that the vehicle was too “big and sharp” to be used on European roads because of its sharp edges and heavy weight.
Too Sharp & Too Heavy
European transport campaigners said in the letter that the vehicles posed danger to the public due to its size, weight, and sharp designy.
The vehicle’s gross weight of 4 tones exceeds the 3.5-tonne limit, beyond which EU regulations require speed limiters.
This has raised questions about truck’s compliance with European road safety standards, which generally prohibit vehicles with sharp edges and weight.
European Commission To Review The Matter
James Nix of the nonprofit Transport & Environment has called for Cybertrucks to be removed from public roads in Europe.
While Tesla has not commented on the issue, the European Commission plans to review the matter with member states, The Guardian reported.
