First British Couple Signs Up For Controversial Suicide Pod

A first British family has signed up for controversial suicide pod to die in each other’s arms.

Peter and Christine Scott, an elderly British couple, have made the decision to end their lives together using the controversial Sarco suicide pod in Switzerland.

At 86 and 80 years old, the couple has enjoyed 46 years of marriage, but their medical conditions compelled them to use assisted dying to die together.

The Couple To Die in Each Other’s Arms

The Sarco pod, short for “sarcophagus,” is a 3D-printed capsule that uses nitrogen to induce death by inert gas asphyxiation, a process that is designed to be quick and painless.

Peter, a former RAF pilot, said he was afraid to witness Christine’s declining mental health and his own physical degradation.

While the Sarco pod and assisted dying remain controversial and illegal in the UK, Peter and Christine see this option as a dignified end to their lives.
