A motorcade carrying Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democratic candidate for vice president, had a crash on Monday.
Fortunately the governor remained unhurt when multiple cars at the rear of the motorcade collided.
Reporters said they were “violently thrown forward” as their vehicle was struck from behind, causing a chain reaction involving multiple cars.
Only One Person Injured
Governor Walz was not injured in the crash, but at least one-person sustained injuries, with reports indicating that one individual may have broken an arm.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 1:00 PM local time on Interstate 794.
Walz Praised Swift Response
In a statement, Mr. Walz thanked the Secret Service and first responders for their swift assistance.
Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden both contacted Walz to check on his well-being.
Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance also expressed his concern on social media and prayed for recovery of those affected.
