A hiker who was recently rescued in the Colorado mountains was raising money for a food charity when he was abandoned by co-workers.
The hiker identified by New York Times as Steve Stephanides was found by a large rescue mission by the Chaffee County Search and Rescue team.
Stephanides Was Raising Money For World Central Kitchen
According to the New York Times, Stephanides was on a mission to raise money for the World Central Kitchen, a global food charity organization.
The rescue officials said in a statement that Stephanides along with 14 other members ventured on a hike to Mt Shavano top but he was left alone in the middle.
The rescued hiker sat for rest in the middle of the hike when his co-workers kept on moving forward, hence losing contact with them.
The company where Stephanides worked said he was lucky to be alive as he encountered stormy weather and falls while being alone.
