Romanian police have raided the residence of controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate over allegations of money laundering and minors’ trafficking.
The Associated Press said that the police is investigating human trafficking and sexual assault allegations against Mr. Tate.
So far, four homes belonging to Tate have been thoroughly searched and material was transferred for investigative purposes, Romania’s anti-organized crime agency said.
What Are The Charges?
The DIICOT investigation includes allegations of trafficking minors, sexual intercourse with a minor, influencing statements, and money laundering.
Tate’s spokesperson, Mateea Petrescu, acknowledged the ongoing legal process but did not specifically address the allegations involving minors.
Andrew Tate, along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian women, were arrested in 2022 and later indicted and released from house arrest in 2023.
Charges Denied
All four individuals have denied the charges against them as a conspiracy against them.
The Tate brothers are also facing potential extradition to the UK over allegations of sexual aggression dating back to 2012-2015.
