Whether it can transform into a reality or not, the Los Angeles mayor has said the 2028 Olympics will be a “no-car Games”.
The ambitious plan was seen as an exaggeration by many as the city is always jam packed with never ending road tracks and busy traffic.
LA Already Working on Plans
The mayor Karen Bass said the city administration was already working on redesigning it to host the world’s biggest sports show in 2028.
“We’re already working to create jobs by expanding our public transportation system in order for us to have a no-car Games,” she said.
Right after the 2024 Olympics ended, Bass and Casey Wasserman, the chairman of the LA 2028 organizing committee, highlighted the green plan to make the games more in line with environmental considerations.
The main issue with regards to hosting no-cars games is the fact that the city’s public transport is too bad but with the right planning, it will work.
