The current US Vice President Kamala Harris has officially been selected the democratic presidential nominee in a collective party vote.
The news came more than a week after Harris was endorsed by President Joe Biden and hundreds of democrats after the former stepped down under pressure.
To Be First Woman President
Miss Harris, if she is able to defeat his rival Donald Trump in November elections, shall become the first ever female president in United States history.
She had already become the first woman of color to be running for the highest public office in the nation’s history.
According to the Washington Post article, 3,923 democratic delegates have already planned to vote for her.
Campaign Already Raised $200 Million
As soon as Harris was endorsed by Biden after leaving the race, donors and democratic voter base raised $200 million in just over a week.
Voters’ confidence increased since she was first endorsed by the President.
