Barack Obama has officially endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris for the Democratic presidential nominee.
The endorsement came amid tensions among democratic voters whether the former President would support her or not.
Ms. Kamala had already been endorsed by more than 100 prominent Democrats when Joe Biden stepped out of the White House race.
Obama Endorses Kamala
The former President Barack Obama and his wife, the former first lady, Michelle Obama endorsed Ms. Kamala in a joint statement ending days of speculation.
Initially, Obama praised Biden’s decision without endorsing Harris, but the endorsement came as Harris secured the support of a majority of Democratic delegates.
Republicans Lash Out
As usual, Donald Trump led Republicans lashed out at the decision of Kamala Harris leading the democratic party in the upcoming elections.
Presidential nominee Donald Trump criticized Harris on his social media platform, Truth Social, labeling her a “radical left Marxist” and questioning her suitability for debates.
