Several climate groups have urged the US President to step aside from the White House to prevent Donald Trump’s victory in the upcoming elections.
The activists argue that if Biden ran for the White House, Trump would have a weak and old candidate to face, eventually resulting in Republicans’ victory.
Groups fear that Mr. Trump would roll back pro-climate policies of Joe Biden.
Biden Running is A Recipe For Trump’s Victory
Climate groups like the Sunrise Movement and Climate Defiance have openly urged Joe Biden to save his climate legacy by stepping down.
Michael Greenberg, the founder of Climate Defiance said that “nominating Biden is a recipe for electing Trump”, saying Biden is not the man they would support.
The Sunrise Movement was on the top in 2020 when it helped the Biden administration draft its climate agenda.
But the movement is now skeptical of Biden’s ability to beat Trump, The Guardian reported.
