The US Defense Department has raised the threat level of its bases in Europe to high after Russia vowed to respond after attacks on its soil.
The Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that they suspect Russia to target US bases in Europe after Ukraine used long range missiles.
No Intelligence
The New York Times reported that the US officials denied having intelligence that Russia is expected to launch attacks on US bases.
The Times did acknowledge that any such move by Russia will be a catastrophic escalation in Russia-Ukraine war that can put Europe at risk.
Why The Threat Level Was Increased?
The threat level was increased to high after Ukraine used American made missiles known as ATACMS to strike deep into occupied Crimea.
The Kremlin, in response, warned that the strikes will have significant consequences for the region.
