Prince William surprised attendees at the Earthshot Prize event in London by wearing a tie made from recycled plastic.
The Prince of Wales showcased his commitment to sustainability with a £39 green tie made from polyethylene terephthalate, a material derived from food and drink packaging.
Prince Williams Wears Recycled Tie
The tie was produced by the Italian company Wilmok and is the second made from recycled plastic bottles that he is known to have.
While discussing his attire, William mentioned that his suit was made from silk and highlighted his tie, saying, “I’m wearing a recycled plastic tie today.”
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates was also present at the event.
Speaking with Gates, William emphasized the celebratory nature of the week, saying, “Celebrating the incredible minds that are working all around the world, night and day, on climate solutions, celebrating the individuals and organizations who are supporting them, and celebrating the progress we have already made.”
