Tamayo Perry, an actor in the famous Pirates of the Caribbean, has died in a shark attack while surfing in Hawaii.
The emergency services noted that Perry was surfing at Malaekahana beach on the Hawaiian island of Oahu when he died on Sunday afternoon.
Perry was taken to the shore by using a jet ski but he was already declared dead by the paramedics, BBC reported.
Perry Was a Professional Surfer
Mayor Rick Blangiardi said in a press conference that Perry was a professional surfer who was greatly respected in the small community.
In “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” Perry played a buccaneer alongside Penélope Cruz and Johnny Depp.
He also worked as a stunt performer in “The Big Bounce”, an American heist film.
According to the 2023 edition of the International Shark Attack, there were just 69 unprovoked shark attacks worldwide last year, 10 of which were fatal.
