Intense heat has killed at least 50 people in India in just three days as the country undergoes a significant temperature rise in recent months.
Climate officials have blamed the country’s general elections to be the primary cause of increasing death toll as people went out to vote for their favorite candidates in summer.
The present year 2024 has been different in terms of temperatures as multiple heat waves have already wreaked havoc in the South Asian country.
28,000 Heat Stroke Cases
Medical professionals blamed heat strokes to be the primary cause of deaths that were reported across India.
The northern state of Uttar Pradesh and Odisha (Orissa) state jointly reported 43 deaths as temperatures reached skyrocketing limits.
The federal health ministry says that the nation has reported more than 28,000 cases of heat strokes from 1 March to 30 May, a duration when the heat just starts to hit in the region.
