Phoenix, American Hottest City is Seeing A Surge in Deaths

Phoenix is considered to be the hottest one in the entire country as the heat increases year by year.

A record number of 645 deaths were reported last year, with 290 being homeless and the culprit: intense heat.

The answer lies in increasing global warming that is expected to intensify heat related incidents to skyrocketing levels.

Record Number of Deaths in Phoenix

As per the weather officials, the city temperatures have remained above 110 degrees and have rarely dipped below 95 in the three decades.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has seen an increase in homeless population that is why more and more deaths are reported in the unhoused community.

As per a report by Politico, “heat is the second-biggest killer of homeless people in the county, behind drug overdoses.”

The state has established around 17 center cooling centers but none of them had night hours and many wouldn’t allow pet dogs, contributing to an increase in the number of deaths.
