The Iranian President and the foreign minister have lost their lives in a tragic helicopter crash that happened in the north.
The President Ebrahim Raisi and the Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian along with seven other officials were killed in a foggy, mountainous region of Iran.
Where The Helicopter Crashed?
Prior to the crash, the Iranian President Raise was in Azerbaijan to inaugurate a joint dam with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
During the return journey, the helicopter pilots must have struggled to control owing to harsh terrain and foggy weather, state media said.
After 17 hours of search and rescue operation, the dead bodies of Mr. Raisi and Mr. Hossein was recovered from the crash site.
“We are in the process of transferring the bodies of the martyrs to Tabriz,” the Iranian Red Cross told Iranian media.
The death of the two leaders shocked the world with world leaders pouring in condolences from every corner of the world.
