Ukraine Now Using DIY Cheap Planes To Target Deep Inside Russia

The Ukrainian military has started using cheap DIY planes to target oil refineries 800 miles deep inside Russia.

The project unveiled by the Ukrainian intelligence directorate has so far turned two locally made sports planes into precision drones that could be controlled via remote controls far away from its targeted regions.

Ukraine has been targeting oil refineries inside Russia but the two planes named the Aeroprakt A-22 and Aerosor Nynja were put into action just recently.

Spot Strikes

The Ukrainian intelligence have equipped both the drones with inexpensive video cameras, simple onboard computers, and satellite radios for video transmission, each cost at least $100,000.

Although the impact of these sports drones are not yet clear, the Ukrainian military calls them “Spot Strikes”.

Retired U.S. Army general Mark Hertling noted in May that the goal of these strikes is to exhaust the Russian air defenses because they can’t defend every inch.
