Media organizations have labeled the move as a “dark day for the media” as it comes amid increasing death toll in Gaza.
Israel Justifies Move
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has justified the move on the pretext of national security.
The Israeli authorities have ordered law enforcement agencies to confiscate Al Jazeera’s media equipment, cut the channel off from cable and satellite companies and block its websites.
Mouthpiece of Terrorists
The Israeli officials have been calling the news channel a propaganda tool for Hamas.
Al Jazeera said the accusation that it threatened Israeli security was a “dangerous and ridiculous lie” that put its journalists at risk.
Al Jazeera on the other hand has accused Israel of deliberately targeting its journalists in Gaza and elsewhere.
