An eighth-grade student in Wisconsin prevented a tragedy when he took control of a school bus after the driver experienced a medical emergency.
The young teen named Acie Holland III was praised for his courageous act for saving dozens of innocent lives.
The boy parked the bus around the corner, called 911 and told the kids in the bus to inform their parents that they are fine, the Guardian reported.
Principal Wrote Letter
In a letter to parents, Glen Hills Middle School principal Anna Young appreciated 14-year-old Acie Holland III for his quick actions that saved dozens of lives.
According to Young, the bus driver lost consciousness temporarily and Acie noticed the driver’s condition as he moved her foot from the gas pedal and applied the brakes.
Acie Hero
The school district hailed Acie as a hero in a Facebook post, recognizing his quick thinking and calm response during the alarming incident.
In an interview with a local TV, Acie attributed his leaping into action to an instinct to protect others – and himself, the Guardian mentioned.
