US officials have confirmed that the Israeli military has conducted missile strikes in the Iranian province of Isfahan.
The US officials said that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier warned US President Joe Biden that Israel will retaliate in the next 48-72 hours.
On the other hand, the Iranian media and the military have rejected the western media’s assertions claiming the air defense systems downed three drones.
No Damage Caused
Although the Iranian state media rejected Israeli missile strikes, they did acknowledge spotting three drones.
A senior Iranian official told Reuters that the country didn’t receive any external threat and it was an “infiltration” rather than an attack.
The Iranian sources also confirmed that the drones were shot down and there was no damage caused to nuclear facilities.
Air Defense Systems Activated
The Iranian Fars news agency reported that “air defense systems over several Iranian cities were activated” to respond to Israel’s potential attack.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) urged the countries to avoid targeting nuclear sites in conflicts.
