British Man Becomes First Person To Run The Length of Africa

Russ Cook, a British man finally reached his destination after completing an epic 352-day journey spanning 16 countries and covering over 9,940 miles (16,000km) across Africa.

The 27-year-old endurance athlete from England reached the finish line in Tunisia on Sunday, putting an end to his remarkable journey throughout the African continent.

Charity Raised £600,000

Despite numerous challenges, including a robbery in Angola and health scares along the way, Cook persevered, raising more than £600,000 for charity.

Setting off from Cape Agulhas in South Africa on 22 April 2023, Cook embarked on a spectacular adventure that saw him cross rainforests, mountain ranges, and the vast Sahara desert.

Cook documented his experiences on social media platforms like X, Instagram, and YouTube, attracting millions of viewers.

Supporters joined Cook for the final leg of his run in Tunisia, cheering him on as he completed this monumental achievement.

The funds raised will benefit the Running Charity, which supports young people experiencing homelessness.
