Russia has warned of potential military strikes against SpaceX satellites.
SpaceX has been colluding with the US intelligence services to undermine Russian security, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry said that a commercial satellite can become a legitimate target if it works secretly with foreign intelligence agencies.
SpaceX Secret Contracts
The Russian threat to shoot down SpaceX commercial satellites emerged after Reuters revealed secret contracts signed between Elon Musk’s company and secret services.
The report mentioned that SpaceX signed an agreement with the National Reconnaissance Office worth $1.8 billion in 2021.
No One Can Hide
An anonymous US official told Reuters that the contact could make enemy targets easier to engage and destroy.
“The satellites can track targets on the ground and share that data with US intelligence and military officials,” the report mentioned.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia was aware of such contracts and would react accordingly if its interests were threatened.
