Fast food giant McDonald’s encountered a significant setback as its systems faced global IT outage worldwide.
Despite McDonald’s ruling out cybersecurity issues as the cause, the outage impacted outlets in various countries, including the United States, Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
IT Outage
The disruption termed a “technology outage,” affected operations across the globe, leaving customers frustrated and restaurants grappling with the aftermath.
From Japan and Australia to Hong Kong and the UK, McDonald’s stores faced difficulties, with some forced to suspend operations temporarily.
Patrik Hjelte, the owner of several McDonald’s restaurants in Sweden, told local media that McDonald’s “restaurants are connected to a global network, and that is what’s messed up.”
Some Stores Restored
The IT outage went on for some time in Hong Kong, Australia, UK, and Ireland, but the system was restored.
The food chain rejected speculations that McHackers targeted it and urged to wait while it investigates the problem.
