In the latest support documentation of Apple, the company has warned against using Rice to dry wet iPhones.
Tech experts have been warning against the technique and now the company is officially warning users not to do it.
Apple claimed that the technique is not just ineffective at drying, but it can also badly damage your device.
What To Do Instead:
Instead of drying the device in Rice, the company suggests some valuable points:
- Remove excess liquid by gently tapping against your hand with the connector facing down.
- Leave your iPhone to dry for 30 minutes with some airflow, and “try charging with a Lightning or USB-C cable or connecting an accessory.”
- If the problem persists, try leaving the device for 24 hours in a dry place.
Things To Avoid:
These things must be avoided at all costs:
- Don’t put your iPhone in Rice.
- Don’t insert objects into the connector.
- Don’t use an external heating source to dry the iPhone.
