President Joe Biden has won South Carolina’s primary by securing all 55 pledged delegates.
According to projections by the BBC’s US partner CBS, Biden successfully won all 55 delegates after counting the ballots from Saturday’s vote.
With limited competition within his party, Biden pledged to make Republican Donald Trump a “loser.”
Black Power
With a significant black population, South Carolina has been a key state for Biden, with black voters notably supporting him in 2020. Biden emphasized the state’s importance, stating, “You’re the reason I’m president.”
“In 2020, it was the voters of South Carolina who proved the pundits wrong, breathed new life into our campaign”, Biden said after the results.
Biden Warned About Danger
At the end of the results, Joe Biden warned its voters about dangerous and extreme voices in the country, a reference to former President Donald Trump. ”
There are extreme and dangerous voices at work in the country – led by Donald Trump – who are determined to divide our nation,” he mentioned.
