US & UK Conducts Dozens of Airstrikes in Yemen

The United States and the United Kingdom have conducted massive airstrikes against Houthis in Yemen.

Both military forces targeted more than 60 important locations, dropping precision bombs to dismantle Houthi’s capability to attack commercial ships in the Red Sea.

While Western countries have supported the move, leaders in the East have condemned the strikes as an escalation of the Gaza war.

US & UK Strikes Yemen

The US used more than 100 precision-guided munitions of different types in its strikes, including Tomahawk land-to-air missiles.

The UK said it targeted two locations: a site at Bani, which the UK says was used to launch reconnaissance and attack drones, and an airfield at Abs.

Videos circulating on social media show massive fireballs emerging from a distance, suggesting an intense bombing campaign.

Reason For Strikes

The US and UK firepower came into action as the Houthis, a rebel group in Yemen, increased their attacks against commercial ships in the Red Sea.

The military strikes were used as a last resort as Western countries were worried about disruption of global trade.
