New Law Puts More Pressure on British Schools in China

British private schools in China are facing significant challenges as the Chinese government puts new law on January 1.

The new patriot law requires private schools to integrate Chinese nationalism into all subjects of the curriculum.

Experts suggest that the era of private schooling in China is now over as the Communist Party tightens its grip over what is being taught in schools.

China’s New Patriot Law

On 1 January, China’s new patriotic education law will come into effect.

The new law will regulate the classrooms in which part of the appeal is supposed to be western-style teaching.

As the Chinese economy opens to the world after Covid, the government has taken a reverse course by putting more pressure on international schooling systems.

The new law dictates that private schools must comply by integrating Chinese patriotism into the curriculum, leaving a little room for international brands to work freely.

One teacher that ‘The Guardian’ spoke to, said the entire history department left the school when the school started teaching Chinese against international standards.
