Taiwan Readies For War As Chinese Warships Enter Strait

The Taiwanese military actively monitored the Chinese warships and fighter jets as they crossed the sensitive line between the island and China.

China’s aggressive military posture in the region is taking place just a few weeks before the Taiwanese elections.

The Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense said the PLA encircled Taiwan from the north, middle and southwest.

Although the Chinese posture is not something new, the island considers each step vital for its security.

The Taiwanese military said it detected 10 fighter jets of the People’s Liberation Army crossing the sensitive median line of the Taiwan Strait.

From 1330(UTC+8) today, we have detected PLA aircraft (including J-10, J-11, J-16, Y-8, KJ-500, etc.), 10 of which crossed the median line and entered our North, Central, SW ADIZ. In addition, the aircraft also conducted joint combat patrol with PLAN vessels.

Taiwan is on High Alert

As Taiwan braces for presidential elections in January, political experts expect intense Chinese intervention in the political and military sphere.

China refuses to recognize Taiwan’s independence and considers the self-ruled island as its territory.
