More than 1,100 police officers are under investigation for sexual and domestic abuse in England and Wales.
Out of hundreds of police officers, 378 officers are suspended and 428 officers have been placed on restricted duties, The Guardian reported.
The investigation started when Met PC David Carrick was found guilty of committing 49 offences, including rape.
1,151 Officers Under Investigation
The Guardian report mentioned that a total of 1,151 police officers were rounded up and investigated for sexual and domestic abuse.
The Metropolitan police is working non-stop to consider suspending officers who can’t pass initial assessment tests.
The Casey Report
The Casey report published eight months ago shed light on the discriminatory culture that has taken hold in the Metropolitan police.
Louise Casey’s report highlighted the shameful and sexist behavior of many police officers, some of whom were accused of committing rapes.
Furthermore, data from 50,000 Met employees have been checked since the report was first published.
