Tokyo police have arrested a taxi driver for deliberately running over a flock of pigeons, killing one.
According to the police, the suspect breached animal welfare laws by intentionally killing a pigeon, which is not a sport animal.
The Japanese media reported that the suspect argued that roads were for cars and that it was up to the pigeons to protect themselves.
Arrested For Killing A Pigeon
The Japanese media reported that the taxi driver name Atsushi Ozawa, first branched the traffic lights and then ran over the pigeon at 60 miles per hour.
The incident occurred last month, but the arrest was made this Sunday, according to The Guardian.
Suspect is Guilty
After a careful examination of the pigeon’s dead body, the veterinarian concluded that the suspect was indeed responsible for the pigeon’s murder.
The post-mortem revealed that the pigeon was killed from a traumatic shock.
The suspect rejected any wrongdoing and blamed the pigeons for overcrowding the road for cars.
