The US military has successfully deterred an attempt to hijack an Israeli-linked cargo ship.
The US CENTOM said they managed to capture all the attackers after they responded to a call they received from the cargo ship.
The US military intervened at a time when the attackers were on the ship.
US Navy Responded On Time
According to US Central Command, The US Navy destroyer USS Mason received a call for help from the cargo ship sailing in the Gulf of Aden.
The CENTCOM immediately dispatched the USS Mason, with help from allied ships.
The CENTCOM said the Navy ordered the hijackers to release the crew at once, which they did.
Attackers Attempted To Flee
At least five attackers tried to take over the ship, which was shipping phosphoric acid to a nearby country.
Upon arriving, the US military demanded the release of the vessel.
Five armed men exited the ship and attempted to flee in small boats. The CENTCOM said the attackers surrendered when they had nowhere to go.
