SpaceX’s space rocket Starship has self-destructed over the Atlantic Ocean.
The rocket computer exploded in the air 8 minutes after it was launched from the coastal town of Boca Chica.
Starship is the latest and the most powerful launch vehicle ever developed.
Starship Self-Destructs Mid-Air
According to the BBC, who was broadcasting the launch live, the world’s largest rocket successfully soared into the Texan sky, and a separation of the rocket took place after a few minutes.
Yet, a twist unfolded – the bottom booster exploded 8 minutes after the launch.
While the upper stage went on, it exploded after a few minutes.
SpaceX Says Launch Was Successful
Despite the destruction of the rocket, SpaceX said the launch was a success and an incredible experience.
The launch was a success in the sense that it’ll help SpaceX engineers to analyze the data and learn what went wrong.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also congratulated his team after today’s launch.
