A Russian passenger plane with 161 passengers on board landed in an open field in Siberia. The Ural Airlines Airbus A320, which was on its way from Sochi to Omsk, made an emergency landing near a forest in Novosibirsk region, Russia’s aviation agency said.
No One Was Injured
The aviation officials said fortunately no one was injured in the incident as the plane landed without any problem. The plane landing was hailed as a miracle by the passengers as they thought they wouldn’t be able to see another day. “We landed softer than on asphalt,” one of the passengers told local media.
Passengers Housed In Village
The nearby villagers opened their doors for the plane passengers while the aviation crew worked on fixing the problem. Russia’s Investigative Committee opened an investigation into the unexpected landing to find out what went wrong. Ural Airlines later announced they were paying $1,000 to each passenger as compensation.
