The British Museum has sacked one of its own employees for stealing artifacts from the Museum. The stolen items include jewelry, gold, gems and other precious stones. The suspect responsible is a staff member of the British Museum in London, an impressive tourist destination in the UK. The Museum said they were working with investigative experts to recover the stolen or any damaged artifacts.
Museum Tightened Security
The Museum administration said they have been working on tightening the security arrangements to avoid further incidents in the future. The administration said all the stolen artifacts had not been displayed for the public and were used for research and academic purposes.
Legal action To Be Taken
The British Museum said they will follow a legal procedure against the staff member and others who assisted him in stealing the artifacts. The Metropolitan Police have not yet arrested anyone and the British Museum also initiated an independent investigation.
