Ukrainian secret service (SBU) said they have arrested two Russian spies plotting to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The female Russian informants were arrested from Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, officials said.
Two Russian Spies
The Ukrainian secret service revealed that another woman was also arrested shortly after the first arrest. Both the suspects were sharing information about the location and movements of the Ukrainian President with the superiors in the Russian military. The spies could face up to 12 years in prison, if convicted, reports said.
Russia Was To Launch An Airstrike
Ukrainian intelligence authorities further said both the spies were sharing information on time, visits and location of the President to kill him through an airstrike. The Russian military was waiting to receive the intel and launch an airstrike to eliminate Zelenskyy.
