Tesla’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has stepped down paving the way for the Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja to become the new CFO. Zachary Kirkhorn stepped down after spending 13 years with the company including 4 years as CFO.
Who is Vaibhav Taneja?
The 45-years-old Vaibhav Taneja became a part of Tesla following the company’s acquisition of SolarCity in 2016. As per his LinkedIn profile, Taneja has an academic background in commerce from Delhi University. His educational journey also encompassed accountancy studies at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, leading to his certification as a public accountant in 2016.
Why did Kirkhorn Step Down?
Zachary Kirkhorn, who spent 13 years with Elon Musk’s Tesla, stepped down but will remain with the company till the end of this year. Kirkhorn said in a LinkedIn post that he was proud of his work with the company since he joined it 13 years ago.
