India Successfully Launches Space Rocket To Moon

The Indian space agency has successfully launched the Launch Vehicle Mark III rocket to land a spacecraft on the moon. The rocket successfully went off carrying a lander and rover to land near the south pole of the moon. Indian PM Narender Modi tweeted the rocket was carrying hopes and dreams of the Indian nation.

India’s First Attempt Failed

India’s previous attempt, Chandrayaan-2, failed to achieve its target in 2019 due to loss of contact with the rocket. The Chandrayaan-3 mission is expected to land successfully without any complications,  the Indian space agency said. The historic LVM3 rocket is scheduled to land on 23-24 August near the moon’s south polar region, where it’ll remain for 14-earth days.

Significance of Chandrayaan-3

If Chandrayaan-3 achieves a successful landing, it would position India as the fourth nation, following the United States, the Soviet Union, and China, to land a spacecraft on the moon’s surface. The successful touchdown of Chandrayaan-3, which intends to deploy its rover to investigate the South Pole of the Moon, would provide valuable data and information from the region, contributing to future missions.
