Meta’s recently released Threads application has achieved an impressive user base of over 100 million users, surpassing even ChatGPT’s growth rate. While OpenAI’s chatbot reached this milestone within two months, Threads managed to accomplish the same feat in just a matter of days since its launch last Wednesday.
Threads’ Insane Growth
Threads experienced rapid success right from the start, demonstrating its popularity almost instantly. Within the initial two hours, it amassed 2 million users and continued to grow steadily, reaching milestones of 5 million, 10 million, 30 million, and eventually 70 million users. CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed his astonishment at the overwhelming response, stating that the launch had far exceeded their expectations.
Threads Not Available in Europe
Meta’s new app Threads is not yet available in Europe amid increasing concerns about privacy. Threads have been widely criticized for collecting almost everything including financial info, location, contact details, search and browse history etc.
