A man who was declared brain dead by the doctors suddenly woke up moments before his life support was about to be turned off. James Howard-Jones was accidently hit on the back by one of his friends named Ben Davies, due to which James fell on the ground and hit its head. After some surgeries, Doctors told his family that he was brain dead, and the good thing would be to just let him die.
James Regained Consciousness
Moments before the life support was about to be switched off and his organs donated, James regained consciousness after being brain dead for more than a year. James’ father told the Gloucester Crown Court, England, that James’ family was prepared to donate his organs as doctors had told them that “James was brain dead and the kindest thing we could do was to let him die”.
Davies Was Jailed For Two Years
The 24-year-old Ben Davies was sentenced to two years in prison and admitted inflicting severe harm on James. “You will serve your sentence and be released. Mr Howard-Jones will never be released from what you have done”, Judge Martin Picton told Davies during a court hearing.
